OUR WEDDING

Our Wedding in Reno and Honeymoon on the Oregon Coast:

Here is the story of our Wedding and Honeymoon, to the best I can recall:

We started out by Packing up everything for our Wedding and camping trip on Wednesday, May 17th for our Camping trip/Honeymoon on the Oregon Coast after the wedding. Our neighbor, Mr. Wilson, agreed to watch our house and take "Baby" over to his house and take care of her.
On Thursday, We got up early in the morning to catch our 6:55 flight to Reno, NV.
When the plane took off from Spokane, There was only 30 passengers on bored. The plane needed hardly no runway at all. It was just immediately in the air. It was pretty cool. I told Jill this is how it's going to feel when I get the new engine in the Camaro. LOL The view was really cool.
There were lakes, rivers, and streams everywhere! Then we landed in Boise, ID. There the plane got pretty full. We took off again and there was a big difference. It took a while to take off. On the plane, the flight attendant noticed our Bride/groom to be pins. Then the captain announced the "Kurt and Jill will be getting married in Reno" and everyone clapped and when we got off the plane they gave us a bottle of champagne. When we arrived in Reno, Jill's Mom and Dad were there to meet us. We got some food at a Taco Bell express
in the airport, since no food was served on the plane.
When we got outside it was very hot and uncomfortable. It just reminded me how much I hate the desert. I'm hot if it's over 65 degree's. So is Jill, Which is very nice.
When we got to the Hotel (The Nugget), We tried to get our rooms, But it was too early. So we played a few quarters and walked around. Then Jill and her mom showed me around the Nugget. Then we came back to the lobby and got our rooms. I called my Sister and mom and dad from the room to see when they were going to be there. (We
later found out that those two 10 minute calls were over .00!) So then we waited for Jill's two best friends, Jeanne and Jennifer to arrive from California. By then a lot of Family started arriving. So we met people and

stuff. Then we went to downtown Reno with Jeanne and Jennifer. We saw The Eldarado, Silver Legacy and Circus Circus. We went to the Circus Circus midway and played a game of bingo lights called "Fascination". We won a lemon and two little foxes. Jeanne got a perfect game and won a cute teddy bear which she gave to Jill. Then we went back to the Nugget and watched "Friends" and drank our free bottle of champagne. We went to sleep around midnight.

Friday, May 19, 2000:
My mom, dad, sister, and niece and nephew got there and we all ate breakfast. Jill's family joined us. Then Jill and I went in a Limo with My niece and nephew, Jeanne and Jennifer, and Jill sister Jeannie to the courthouse to get our marriage license. Lots of pictures were taken the entire time. (We will send pictures to everyone when we get them back.)
When we got back, we all went down to the pool. We just swam and drank and relaxed for the rest of the day. Later My family went back to their room and went to sleep, tired from their long trip
from southern California.

Later that night I won .00 on a quarter slot machine with only one quarter in. I was just walking by done gambling, and dropped a quarter in a machine on the end of an isle, and hit 3 double diamond symbols! Jill's mom 0and some family were just a few yards away and I tried to get there attention, But people were blocking the view. Then they saw me when the guy came to open the machine up, and they came over. It was really cool, But would have been nicer if I had had all 3 quarters in. Jill had just went up to the room and I was supposed to be right behind her. So Jill's mom called her back down. We were all very excited. I was the first to win anything. So we left Reno ahead.

Saturday, May 20, 2000:
We got up and put some clothes on and my mom and dad met us in Jill's mom and dads room for continental breakfast. (At least I think this was the day we did this. LOL) Then we had to start getting ready. Jill left to get her hair done and Right when she left, Me and here dad opened a beer. Then Jill remembered something she forgot and came back in and caught us! LOL So we had a couple beers and then I walked around with Chris and Traci (My niece and nephew) for a while and then went back to my room to get dressed. Then My sister took the kids and I got ready. When I was about done, Jill's dad, DJ got to my room and we went to the bar to have a drink with my mom and
dad.
Then my mom and dad left to get ready and we went up to DJ's room to wait for Jill. Then we all walked over to the chapel together and took many pictures. Then I started getting a little nervous. Not about getting married, but about screwing up in front of a lot of people.
All we could see were camera flashes. It was like being at a big media event. But it went well I think. Except we had a hard time getting the rings on each others fingers. Our fingers we a bit swollen from being nervous. And Jill tried to put my ring on the wrong finger...lol. When it was over we walked back down the isle and outside and took many more pictures. Then we all headed back to the main Casino area and got some BIG margarita's in Souvenir glasses on the way to the reception. The reception went well and Jill spoke for the both of us since I don't do public speaking at all, But then My mom had to do it. She had to yell for me to say something, and I had
no idea whet to say. MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL So Jill said to just say thank you everyone, and I did.
Then we cut the cake and fed each other WITHOUT shoving it in each other's faces. I think everyone was a bit disappointed. My nephew Chris caught the garter and Jill's cousin Sue caught the bouquet.
After everyone left, We did the tradition of walking around and
finishing everyone's leftover Wine and Champagne. So for all of you who did not finish your Wine, You contributed in our getting intoxicated. LOL But it was very fun.
Then we went to the pool with our Champagne and crafts of wine to take pictures by the pool. Then we got kicked out of the pool for having glass. We tried to
tell him it was plastic, But the guy didn't buy that. So we walked back
into the hallway and Jill's sister Jeannie ordered another bottle of champagne.
When the dark skinned guy came with it we told them there was a coupon up in the room and to go get it. About 15 minutes later he comes storming by all pissed and saying : "There was no coupon!" It was very funny! In the mean time, Jeannie had asked this girl passing by to open our bottle. Her name was Roxanne, and she fit her name very well. We were all drunk and ended up following her to her room, Because she said her new husband would never believe she just met a bride and groom and friends. (We still had our wedding clothes on.) Their room was so tiny, We could not all fit in it. So we stood in the doorway with the door open being loud and drunk of course.
After a little while, Two security guards came and made us leave. We tried to get them to let us take a picture of them with us, But they were weird Nevada people and would not let us. After this I cant really remember much but going to Jill's mom and dad's room, going to the tropical bar to drink and trying to dance with Jill (and it was my idea so you know I was drunk!), and going to get something to eat and drink in a restaurant. Then we walked to a fountain to take more pictures and get fresh air. Finally we went up to Jill's mom and dad's room again. Then I think we went to our room and I had developed a bad headache. I was already getting my hangover before I went to sleep. So
then we went to sleep at midnight.

Sunday, May 21, 2000:
We got up at 7:00 again to see my family again before they left. But we couldn't find them anywhere. We called their rooms and tried to page them, But got nothing. My sisters room told me that they had already checked out. And no messages were on our phones. We
assumed they left earlier than 7:00. So we missed them. It turned out that they were looking for us in the Casino, But we were in our room, or Jill's mom and dads room. We were keeping the I won, and did not want to gamble anymore. I later lost the additional .00 in change I had in my pocket playing slots trying to kill time.
Then we took Jill's sister Jeannie and her husband Kim to the airport. Later, Jeanne and Jennifer left. Then we went and visited with some of Jill's family in an espresso bar. Then we said goodbye to everyone and headed down to the pool to relax for an hour. Jill's mom and dad picked us up at 3:30 to take us to the
airport, Making a stop along the way at Wienerschnitzel! Jill's friends
Mark and Kellie were with us and Mark and I both love Wienerschnitzel chili dogs. So I got a 10 pack and ate 4 of them. Jill's dad had two and I took the
remaining four on the plane in a bag for home. They have no
Wienerschnitzel's in Washington. Probably nowhere in the Northwest.
Our plane arrived 25 minutes late of course. We were already there about 90 minutes early. So we spent a long time waiting in the airport. On the plane home it was completely full. Thanks to our friend Amy, they announced again about our marriage and we got another free bottle of Champagne.
When we got back to Spokane, and went outside, It was so nice to be back home. It was probably 60 degree's. Very nice. We drove the truck home with the windows down to enjoy the nice weather.
Our trip to Reno made us realize just how nice the Northwest is. We ran into so many really rude people in Reno. I had forgotten just how rude people can be. Hardly anyone spoke good English and everyone was hard to understand.
We got home around 10:00PM We got the rest of our stuff ready for our big camping trip/Honeymoon on the Oregon Coast and went to bed at 11:00PM.
Our Honeymoon trip to the Oregon Coast:
We got up at 6:00 AM. We both got ready and picked up Sadie from the Vet where she was being board during our Reno Trip. Then we stopped back at the house to drop off her house and get her some more food, and do a last check of everything to make sure everything was locked and okay. We left one upstairs window open for Petrie and Stormy. (birds) We had some lights and the stereo set on timers. We got in the truck with everything packed in the back and hit the road. We took Monroe south to I-90. We headed west on 90 to 395 south for a while. We made several stops along the way to stretch and let the Beagle out for a walk. She just slept in the middle of us the entire trip. Then we eventually ended up on I-84 going west. I-84 is on the Oregon side of the Columbia River. We took that all the way to the coast, through Portland to 26 and then to 101 to Fort Steven’s right at the mouth of the Columbia River. It was a huge really nice campground. We got there around 4:30 PM and set up camp. The trip was just over 450 miles by our odometer. Then we went into Astoria, OR to get some groceries and eat some dinner. We wanted Pizza. Jill saw a “Mom and Pop” pizza place and I said: “Yah, But you never know what your going to get with those places. We saw a Pizza Hut, and went there figuring it would be the same as anywhere. IT WASN’T.
When we walked in, I noticed they were playing disgusting rap music in the kitchen. So I went over to the Jukebox and put a couple dollars in and played some classic rock music. (There was no country music on it.) Then no sound came out, So I asked them to turn up the volume and they did. But they also left their rap on. So we couldn’t understand hardly anything. Then we asked for “The Big NewYorker” pizza. They didn’t have that. So we thought maybe that was just a regional thing. Then we noticed the higher prices. Well, Maybe it’s because it’s a tourist town. We ordered a medium Pepperoni with extra cheese. 30 minutes later we get our so called pizza. It was thin as a piece of paper and had hardly no sauce at all and no cheese at all. So I said, “I ordered extra cheese, and there’s hardly no cheese at all.” She said she didn’t charge us for it, But that they put more cheese on it than the manager lets them put on it for extra cheese. We couldn’t believe it. The crust was like a saltine cracker. There were huge bubbles in it everywhere. It was just horrible. I guess we should have had a clue when it was 6:00 and nobody was there. We really should not have paid for it. But I left a nice shiny penny on the table for her tip. We agreed we will call the main Pizza Hut and tell them about it. That store has no right to have the “Pizza Hut” name.
So we got our groceries and headed back to camp. It was starting to get dark, (It was after 9:00) We made a little fire and talked and I drank a couple beers and we went to bed. We were the only campers around. It was really cool. There were probably about 5 campers in the entire park.
We got up around 8:00AM and went to the showers and got cleaned up. Then we cooked breakfast on our new Coleman campstove. Then we went to the beach. We stayed at the beach for quite awhile, playing with Sadie and checking out the shipwreck. The ship was “The Peter Airedale” It wrecked on shore in 1906. It was one of the first Iron frame/steel plate constructed ships. All that remains now is the front bow and pieces of iron sticking up about 8 inches out of the sand and a couple pieces of iron at the back of the ship. There’s a plaque that shows pictures of it when it was a complete ship when it first wrecked at shore and then how it disappeared over the years. It just rusted away over the years. At high tide, the water comes up to it. It was only 3 miles from making it into the Columbia River where it would have been safe. But a big storm caused it to run up on shore. It was about to be retired anyway because of it’s age, That’s why they just left it there. We have pictures of it. We also collected many sand dollars.
We also went and saw some other beaches around and saw Fort Clatsop nearby. The next day we went to Tillamook, OR and went to the Tillamook Cheese factory. It was pretty cool to see how they make all the cheese. We also went to Seaside, OR and went to an aquarium and got to touch some starfish, and other sea creatures. They had a couple octopus too. Last we fed a bunch of sea lions. They were funny.
One night when we went to the bathroom and came back to our campsite, There were raccoon’s trying to get to our food. Jill was afraid of them. I took a close-up picture of one of them. I finally scared them away, while Jill was hiding in the tent. When we went to sleep, I could hear them again. They were trying to get into the back of the truck. But they couldn’t get in because of the Tonue cover I made out of ¾ “ plywood. I didn’t wake up Jill to tell her they were back.
One day on the beach, We were were making Sadie run back and forth between us while we were standing about 50 yards apart. The sand was extra soft and your feet sunk into it. After about 5 times running back and forth, She was running at full speed and then just collapsed and laid down. It was so funny. She was like “Okay, That’s all I can do. I’m tired.” We think her legs were sore the next couple days, Because she wouldn’t run for the next two days. LOL
Thursday night it started raining.  And it kept raining. Not very hard, Just a light rain. It rained Friday most of the day, and then stopped in the evening. So we were hoping that was it, So we could pack up in the morning. But no. It started raining again. Hard. So we got up at 4:00 AM in the rain and packed up our tent. Luckily, We had packed up everything but the tent, airbed, lantern, and blankets on Friday night. So we took down the tent in the rain and put it in the back of the truck all wet. It wasn’t very fun. But it was an experience. We went to the showers and got all cleaned up and put the last of our clean clothes on, and headed for home. We were on the road by 5:30AM
It was raining for about the first 2 hours of the trip, But I dove about 65-70 most of the way. When I got tired of driving, Jill drove. We kept taking turns driving the entire trip. We were “Team Drivers” LOL
When we got home, Jill’s mom and dad were there to take Sadie with them, and I unpacked the truck, and we headed another 75 miles North to Priest Lake, ID for the remainder of the weekend. We got there around 4:30PM We brought Pizza from Papa Murphy’s Take and bake. When we got there we heard the story Phil who rode one Jetski while towing another one back to the cabin from the marina. The rope broke several times and when we was trying to tie it back on, He capsized in the cold, deep wide open water of Priest Lake. We was drenched! I rode the Jetski for awhile, But the water was very rough and I was afraid to go way out in the open, deep water. After awhile, My wrists were sore from hanging on while going over all the waves. The weather wasn’t very good this weekend for Jetski’s and boats.
Later we all we all went inside and played cards. Then Amy found out she had to go back to work in the morning. So it was just me, Jill, and Amy’s brother and wife. We left Monday at noon and went back home. Now I’m sitting here writing this story while doing laundry. 2 weeks worth of laundry! Next I get to clean and put away all the camping stuff. And then do some more cleaning and yard work.
This is Kurt Watson, signing off for now. Have a nice day. 
